The author and I share a love of BVI history!Β
While I am still researching my family’s lives in Anegada, Flordelisa Mota has written about hers in this book.
Below is an amazon review.
Ann True Story
They were driven on by wind and tide.
Ann is about a journey of a Christian mother and her children to another country and culture to preach the Gospel.
It is a true story of how a book by Ellen G. White had a huge impact on her while residing in Anegada in the British Virgin Islands.
Ann discovered the dilapidated book on a ship’s store shelf and felt compelled to buy it.
After reading the book, her life and her beliefs completely changed.
Influence of Ellen G. White
She converted to the Seventh Day Adventist Church and became a follower of Ellen G. White who was an American Christian pioneer.
The correspondence between the American Writer and Ann inspired her to become a missionary of God’s message of redemption.
The book includes the story of the Parsley Massacre; that took effect under the regime of the Dominican Dictator, Rafael Trujillo when over 17,000 Haitians were killed.
It sounds like a fascinating read!
