The Lawaetz Family
The Lawaetz family lived in a beautiful, stately home in Estate Little La Grange on St. Croix.
Carl Lawaetz, a Danish cattle farmer, purchased the property in 1896.
He and his wife, Marie had seven children together shortly after their marriage, but only five survived to adulthood.
One precious little daughter they lost early was Asta Ingeborg Lawaetz. She was only three years old.
The newspapers announced her passing.
Obituary
“We regret very much to announce that little Asta Lawaetz, youngest daughter of Planter and Mrs. Lawaetz of Little La Grange died yesterday afternoon.
The funeral takes place from the Lutheran Church this afternoon at 4 o’clock.
We tender our respectful condolence to the bereaved parents.”
