At the end of July, the German passenger-cargo ship, SS Prasident departed Kingston, Jamaica with eight passengers en route to Santo Domingo.

She picked up at least twelve more travelers and another three in Aux Cayes in Haiti.

She sailed on to San Pedro de Macoris, where fifty-five passengers came aboard.

Of these, at least forty were from the British Virgin Islands.
